You can quickly alter the size and position of the window on your desktop.

You can hold down the [G]
key to rapidly increase or decrease the size of the window.

With your mouse, you can hold down the left3) button to grab the top or bottom edge of the window, or any of the four corners, and drag the mouse up or down to resize the window.
Depending on how tall or short you make the window, MMP
will maintain the correct window width so that the aspect ratio of the window continues to match the aspect ratio of the video.
For this reason, you can't grab the sides of the window to alter the width: the width is calculated automatically based on how you alter the window height.
The video progress bar along the bottom edge of the window actually makes it easier to grab the bottom edge and the bottom left and right corners, rather than the top edge and the top left and right corners.
