You can copy or move an image to any of 14 user-defined folders, anywhere on your computer.
This allows you to go through your image collection and organize the images into folders based on category or subject matter, for example.
All 12 function keys can be assigned a destination folder on your computer.
There are also two special folders, Copied
and Saved
.
Where the files are actually copied or moved to is determined by how you setup your MinimalistMediaPlayer.conf
1) file.
When you first install MMP
it contains the following entries:
baseFolder=
Copied=
Saved=
folder1=
folder2=
folder3=
folder4=
folder5=
folder6=
folder7=
folder8=
folder9=
folder10=
folder11=
folder12=
The base folder is optional, but if you set it, strictly speaking you don't need to set any of the others. In that case, when you move or copy a file, MMP
will create folders called 'Saved', 'Copied', 'folder1', 'folder2', etc., within the base folder.
If you want to call the folders something else you may do so by placing your preferred name after the equals sign2).
e.g. Saved=keep these for later
Alternatively, any of the folders can be specified as fully-qualified paths, e.g.
Copied=c:\copied images\
folder1=D:\memes\
You can also setup any combination of the two: a mixture of
It's always good practice to include the backslash at the end of fully-qualified folder paths, but MMP
will always add one if you haven't.
Don't include a backslash if you're just specifying a named folder within the base folder.
Base folder, if specified, must always be a full path to a folder, e.g. baseFolder=C:\My Image Library\
To copy an image to the Copied
folder, press [C]
To save (i.e. move) an image to the Saved
folder, press [S]

To move an image to any of the other folders, just press the corresponding function key, [F1]
to [F12]
3);
Whether you've moved an image using [S]
or any of the functions keys, you can [U]ndo the move by pressing Ctrl [U]
MMP
will move the image back to the folder you're working on. MMP
maintains an unlimited list of undos.
You can quickly mark an image as Keep
by pressing [K]
. This will rename the file to have a leading exclamation mark/point and a space !
to bring the file to the top of the folder in your File Explorer. You can then return to your File Explorer and the Keep
files will be separated from the others in that folder.
