The Image & Thumbnail Browser Playlist

When you open the Image & Thumbnail Browser1) it automatically builds a playlist containing all the MMP-supported image files that are in the same folder as the media file you were viewing in the main MMP window.

That includes the current most common, general-purpose, image formats2), with the exception of .ico icon files.

If you were viewing an image, the page of thumbnails will start with that image. If you were playing an audio or video file, the thumbnail page will start with the first image file in the current folder.

Playlist

Control Action
[←] show the NEXT image or the next page of thumbnails
[→] show the PREVIOUS image or the previous page of thumbnails
[↓] show the NEXT folder on the same drive as the current folder
[↑] show the PREVIOUS folder on the same drive as the current folder
[A] show the FIRST image or the first page of thumbnails
[HOME] show the FIRST image or the first page of thumbnails
[Z] show the LAST image or the last page of thumbnails
[END] show the LAST image or the last page of thumbnails
[W] [W]atch, i.e. show, the NEXT image or the next page of thumbnails
[ENTER]4) show the NEXT image or the next page of thumbnails
[Q] watch, i.e. show, the PREVIOUS image or the previous page of thumbnails
[L] re[L]oad the playlist from the current folder

The four arrow keys [↑] [↓] [→] [←] are very powerful. With them, you can rapidly browse through an entire hard drive.

To help you remember: [W] for [W]atch next. [Q] comes before [W] on a QWERTY keyboard and so it plays the item before.
These keys are included so that operations are compatible with the main window's keys. In reality, you are likely to only use the arrow keys to navigate your folders and the images in them.

It can be useful to be able to manually reload the playlist when you have made a change to the playlist folder without using MMP to make that change; for example, using another application such as File Explorer to add a movie to the folder from which you're currently playing. Reloading the playlist saves you from having to exit MMP and relaunch it to load the playlist from the amended folder5).

1)
[T] or [Y] from the main MMP window: [T] if you're viewing an image; [Y] regardless of the media type
2)
JPeg, Bitmap, Png, Webp, Gif, Jfif and Avif
3)
I meant, click on one of your thumbnails! LOL
4)
either the main [ENTER]/[RETURN] key or the Numpad [ENTER] key
5)
A future version of MMP will automatically detect the external changes you make and reload the playlist for you.
