Video controls for playback fall into two categories: starting and stopping the current video, and playing a different media file.
The latter category involves the automatically-generated playlist.

If playback is more than a few seconds3) into a chapter, hitting [F8]
will actually jump to the beginning of the current chapter. If playback is within the first few seconds3) of the chapter, [F8]
will jump to the previous chapter.
You can alter the default 5-second threshold by editing the mpv.conf
file and adding
–chapter-seek-threshold=
followed by the required number of seconds. If the value is negative, [F8]
will always jump to the previous chapter, regardless of the current playback position.
