There are four ways to exit MMP: Minimalist Media Player: three are manual, one is automatic.
| Control | Action |
|---|---|
[X] | e[X]its whichever view you are in. If you're in the Image & Thumbnail Browser, you will exit back to the main window*.If you're in the Main Media Window, you will exit the app. |
Ctrl [X] | e[X]its the Image & Thumbnail Browser back to the Main Media Window, ignoring the exitBrowser= setting1) |
[Esc] | operates the same as [X] but even more so.For example, if you are viewing the Release Notes [What's New?] button from the About Box (Ctrl [A]), you can [Esc] all the way out of the app. |
Ctrl [0] | The ultimate exit key: this closes all running instances of MMP immediately, regardless of which view they're in. |
* As of v4.0.1, exiting the Image & Thumbnail Browser depends on whether the exitBrowser=exitApp setting has been set in the MinimalistMediaPlayer.conf file.
Use Shift-[\] to open the MMP config dialog and read the explanation of this setting
If MMP gets to the end of the playlist2), it will exit automatically.
The only exceptions to this rule are if
MMP to auto-repeat every item, Ctrl [R], orMMP to display all images indefinitely, orNext Folder on End in the Shift [\] config dialog
In either case, MMP will continue to replay the final audio or video file, or display the final image, until you manually tell it to move on.
In which case, in the Main Media Window, when viewing the final item in a playlist, pressing any key which instructs MMP to Play Next will exit the app if Next Folder on End isn't set.3)
